Donna Berryman, Human Resource Coordinator
Ms. Berryman joined Gold's Gym in 2003 following an extensive career working
in human resource oriented programs with the State of Florida. Her expertise includes:
- Extensive experience in the unemployment compensation program including assisting in preparing proposed legislation; performing cost analysis of legislation; preparing rules and regulations based on legislation; interpreting rules and regulations.
- Experience in human resource program development including development of evaluation programs; development of training manuals; training presentations; development of job standards; development of performance incentive programs.
- Experience in inventorying job skills; writing positions descriptions; performing desk audits; classifying job skills; preparing organization charts.
- Participation in employee grievance hearings including conducting the hearings and recommending options for resolution.
- Experience in developing procedures for evaluating job applications and methodology for ranking applicants.
- Experience in strategic planning, process development, and problem solving.
- Experience in supervising a human resource unit.
- Conducting fact finding interviews and adjudicating unemployment compensation claims.
Since joining Gold's Gym she has developed a drug-free workplace program and initiated
changes in the hiring process, including requiring a probationary period; designing
probationary evaluation forms; developing procedures to enhance the company's relationship
with the worker's compensation carrier.
Ms. Berryman has received numerous awards and recognition for her work including being
recognized by Governor Lawton Chiles as the Employee of the Year for a state agency.
Ms. Berryman's education includes an AA degree with emphasis in Government and she has
taken courses at the upper college level in that field. She has also attended numerous
human resource workshops with an emphasis on state and federal labor laws.
